In a landmark move towards inclusiveness and empowerment, CANMPSSAN officially launched its Women Empowerment and Leadership Initiative (WELI) at the zonal secretariat in Lagos. The programme aims to groom more women leaders within the union and the broader industrial workforce.
The initiative kicked off with a capacity-building workshop themed “Empowered Women, Stronger Union”, featuring training sessions on leadership, workplace rights, conflict resolution, and mentorship. Participants included female executives from companies such as Unilever, Nigerian Breweries, and PZ Cussons.

The programme will run quarterly in all zones and is expected to be integrated into CANMPSSAN’s national agenda.
